During his 50 Homerun season of 1996, Brady Andreson at one point led off 4 straight games with a Homer! The Orioles lost all 4 of those games. Happy Birthday to the only member of the 50/20 & 20/50 Clubs.
On This Day - Michael Jordan Goes for 64.
It was back on January 16th, 1993 that Michael Jordan had the second highest scoring game of his amazing career. MJ poured in 64 points during a 128-124 Bulls overtime loss to the Orlando Magic. Rookie Shaquille O’Neal had 29 points & 24 Rebounds in his first visit to Chicago.
Mark Clayton Was The Coolest!
Always a favorite of mine growing up, Clayton hauled in 18 Touchdowns from Dan Marino in 1984. That’s still good for third All-Time. Here’s my Original Nowhere Near Mint 1987 Topps Mark Clayton (# 237) from my childhood card collecting days.
Happy Birthday Darryl Dawkins!
Who Ya Got?
Big Dog - Glenn Robinson
When Glenn ‘Big Dog’ Robinson was selected as College Basketball’s National Player of the Year (John Wooden Award) in 1994, he became the first Purdue Boilermaker to win the award since, none other than Mr. John Wooden who won in 1932. They also both wore jersey # 13.

After missing the chance for a World Series Ring during his prime with the 1993 Philadelphia Phillies, Darren got a chance for another when he was traded to the Florida Marlins part way through the 1997 season, after 17 years with the Phillies organization. Dutch went 7 for 18 (.389 BA) with a HR & 2 RBI’s as Pinch Hitter during the Marlins World Series victory over the Cleveland Indians. Happy Birthday Dutch!! R.I.P.

Steve Wallace - San Francisco 49ers Offensive Tackle # 74
Happy Birthday to Steve Wallace. The San Francisco 49ers Offensive Tackle protected two of the best, Joe Montana & Steve Young, from 1986 to 1996, while winning three Super Bowls. Unfortunately he broke his ankle on the 3rd play of Super Bowl XXIII. I mostly remember Steve for his huge padded helmet that he donned for several years after suffering numerous concussions.
