Burn of The Week- The 1991 Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Miami Heat by 68 Points!

This week’s Burn of the Week’ goes to Mark Price & his Cleveland Cavaliers teammates who torched the Miami Heat by a score of 148-80 back on December 17th, 1991. The 68 point margin of victory is the largest in NBA history. Eight players on Cleveland posted double digit point totals, but no one scored over 20. Price & John Battle led the way with 18 a piece. At one point in the game the Cav’s were up by 73!!

Burn of The Week - Larry Bird Torches Hawks

Our newest installment of the Blaze ‘Burn of the Week’ honors one of the best; Mr. Larry Legend. It was back on March 12th, 1985 when Bird torched the Atlanta Hawks for a career high 60 points!! He went 22 of 36 from the field and 15 of 16 from the line while scoring a Celtics record 37 points in the 2nd half. If you come across videos of this game, it’s so funny to watch the Hawks bench going nuts while Larry was knocking down jumpers left and right.

Burn of The Week - Vinnie 'The Microwave' Johnson

This installment of the Blaze ‘Burn of The Week’ goes out to our man Vinnie Johnson. The man known as ‘The Microwave’ sure heated up late in Game 5 of the 1990 NBA Finals. Vinnie torched the Portland Trailblazers for 15 fourth quarter points including the game winner with 00.7 seconds left giving the Detroit Pistons their second consecutive NBA Championship.

Burn of The Week with Tippy Martinez

In a new segment here at The Amazing Blaze Zine titled ‘The Burn of the Week’ we’re highlighting a player who stepped up & dealt their opponent a wicked ‘Burn.’ Our inaugural ‘Burn’ goes to Pitcher Tippy Martinez who during a 1983 game against the Toronto Blue Jays picked off three runners at 1st base all in the same inning! What’s even cooler was that it happened during extra innings. The O’s went on to win it in the bottom of the 10th 7-4.
