It’s Opening Day !! Wilson Alvarez threw out the 1st pitch in Tampa Bay Devil Rays History in 1998. Wilson was ousted by the 3rd inning in an 11-6 loss to the Detroit Tigers.
Did you know Alvarez threw a no hitter in only his 2nd MLB start? He threw the no-no against the Baltimore Orioles on August 11th, 1991
1985 Tournament Hero Ed Pinckney
Happy Birthday Ed Pinckney! Ed led the 8th seeded Villanova Wildcats to the 1985 NCAA title in an upset over the heavy favorite Georgetown Hoyas and Patrick Ewing. He was voted Most Outstanding Player in the Tournament.
On November 3, 1995 Ed was in on the first tip-off in Toronto Raptors history. He faced off against Yinka Dare of the Nets.
